There’s a story in the Bible — it’s told twice — about something that occurred to David concerning his house and God’s house.
David lived in a palace. God’s house was a tent. You hear David’s heart when you read the first verse of the story.
After David was settled in his palace, he said to Nathan the prophet, “Here I am, living in a palace of cedar, while the ark of the covenant of the LORD is under a tent.” — Chronicles 17:1 (NIV)
Here’s what I hear David saying: I should not have a great house while God doesn’t because that which we give to God should be our best — it should be excellent.
That verse often comes up in building projects, but it should come up in all of life.
In this podcast, Pastor Steve speaks about a value of Curwensville Alliance, We pursue excellence in whatever we do, and he works to apply it to all our lives.
