PODCAST: Value 05 – We Pursue Excellence

Presented 2/23/2014 at Curwensville Alliance Church

There’s a story in the Bible — it’s told twice — about something that occurred to David concerning his house and God’s house.

David lived in a palace. God’s house was a tent. You hear David’s heart when you read the first verse of the story.

After David was settled in his palace, he said to Nathan the prophet, “Here I am, living in a palace of cedar, while the ark of the covenant of the LORD is under a tent.” — Chronicles 17:1 (NIV)

Here’s what I hear David saying: I should not have a great house while God doesn’t because that which we give to God should be our best — it should be excellent.

That verse often comes up in building projects, but it should come up in all of life.

In this podcast, Pastor Steve speaks about a value of Curwensville Alliance, We pursue excellence in whatever we do, and he works to apply it to all our lives.

SERMON: What Do You Do With 8760 Hours?

Presented 12/30/2012

clock7Everyone says they don’t have the time they need — that they wish they had more time. But for most of us, we’ve plenty of time. Over the past year, we’ve all received 8784 hours. That’s right — an extra 24 because of Leap Year.

The question is not “How can I get more time.”
he question is, “What should I do with the time I’ve been given?”

This podcast helps us look forward to the coming year, challenging us to live with excellence.
